We're fortunate to be based in Charleston, SC where there are numerous beautiful homes and gardens. Most cities have public gardens and parks that are full of ideas you can use. Call ahead and ask to meet with the lead arborist or groundskeeper. Above all, make sure you get out of the car and walk around. Take your camera and notebook and record what you see. Take a little bit from all of your journies and make the compilation your own in your backyard retreat.
