Use landscape design software to see what your backyard retreat will look like before you uncover the first shovel of dirt. With a little bit of effort and, in some cases, no out of pocket expenses, you can plan your retreat on the screen to help you"see it" first. Some applications even let you scan in a photograph of your home which then becomes the back drop for your plan.
Most packages can be rendered in three dimensions (see the link below for our preview of 3D software we've found) and the realism is amazing. Want to drop in a few shrubs to hide a utility box? No problem, just add as many as you want. Most of these applications are made for the homeowner and occasional software use. You don't need to be a professional designer or drafter to take advantage of them. We highly recommend these as a way of not only seeing your plan in advance, but also as a way to organize your thoughts and help you implement a realistic plan. |
